Mechanism of Action
Selank is a synthetic heptapeptide derived from tuftsin, a naturally occurring tetrapeptide.
It helps modulate the balance of neurotransmitters like serotonin and dopamine, and it produces anxiolytic effects by enhancing the inhibitory action of GABA. It also promotes neurotrophic factors and has been shown to improve BDNF expression, which contributes to cognitive resilience.
Dosing & Protocol
Subcutaneous (SQ) Injection:
- Reconstitution: 5 mg vial → 3.0 mL bacteriostatic water
- Daily Dose: 166 mcg (10 units)
- Cycle: 5 days on / 2 days off, 6 weeks
- Timing: Best taken in the evening, ideally 1–2 hours before bedtime or during periods of heightened stress.
